Great Time

Sail Date: October 23, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was beautiful, especially the lobby and glass elevators. The food was good, nice variety. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, everyone was smiling and welcoming. Didn't like the fact that we couldn't pull into the pier on the first day and had to take a ferry back and forth....wasted about 2 1/2 hours of the day. Also, wouldn't take a cruise out of Boston this late in the year again. Weather was ok, but a bit chilly.

Pros: Beautiful Ship - lots to do

Cons: Not long enough time in Bermuda

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Food and Dining
Nice selection. Quality was good, but not excellent. Our waiter was new to the cruise, only his second time, but he was very good.
Cabin / Stateroom
Still a bit tight for two, but with the balcony door it made the room look larger. Wouldn't book another cruise without a balcony.
Entertainment
The opening show comedian was spectacular. Would have liked it if he had another show on the ship.
Ship Quality
Had a problem with the lavatory in our room. Backed up several times and created a smell. However, the maintenance team was quick to respond and fix the problem. Luckily we had a balcony room so we could open the window/door for fresh air.
Service and Staff
Had little to no problems with staff.
King's Wharf, Bermuda
Interesting history. Wasn't impressed by the shops at all.
Don't Miss: Didn't see anything that actually moved us.
Hamilton, Bermuda
Too many jewelry shops!!! Pretty town..enjoyed the colors. Nothing much impressed me in the town. The beaches were great, although it was rather cold and cloudy the day we spent there.
Don't Miss: The pink sand of the beaches.
