Jewel of the Seas, truly a wonderful shi

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was a beautiful, well run ship, very clean with varied restaurants and lounges, with great shore excursions and lots of historial information on the islands and carribean in general. Would sail on this ship again.

I personally have taken four prior cruises and found this to be a very pleasant experience. My bride was on her maiden voyage and extremely pleased with the entire trip.

Pros: The great food and exciting ports of call.

Cons: Need to impart more information on shipboard happenings to cruisers

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship size was super, smooth sailing, as stated above public areas and layout were great.
Food and Dining
Food was great we were offered a variety of dining options which was great.
However, it should have been stressed that the first night was mandatory black tie. This information may haveen imparted if booked way in advance but with a late booking such as ours we were not prepared. However we found other dining options with great food and had no problem with the dress code.
Cabin / Stateroom
No problem with quality of our room, I knew that an inside stateroom was not as terrific as an oceanview with a balcony, but was very please with the room overall.
Service and Staff
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Not very impressed with this city, dirty and run-down, when visited with my parents years ago found it much more hospitable at that time
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
St. John's, Antigua
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Most picturesque of the ports, especially loved St. Johns
Nassau, Bahamas
Never changes have visited and worked here at the Atlantis and is a typical tourist area.
