An almost perfect spring break
Jewel of the Seas Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Sail Date: March 19, 2006
Ship: Jewel of the Seas
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (older children)

Review SummaryThe Jewel is a wonderful ship. The cuisine was very nice in a safe kind of way, but that was expected. Our only disappointments could be pinned on the lack of follow-up by the youth staff to try to get the 100-plus teens on board (15-17) to participate in anything. Our daughter was rarin' to go and was contantly told that an activity was cancelled when no one would show up, but there was never an effort made to get the kids informed-involved-interested.
Secondly, Cozumel was a bust. The hurricane did a number on the port, but they'd better show some moxie on the cleanup and rebuild process, or their tourism-based economy is going to be pretty dismal in a couple of years.
