Review summary

Great cruise except for the way they handled getting off for some of the tours & the disembarkation. This needs to be fixed. They also charged $2 for a .50 cent bottle of water. Gratuities will also cost you $27 per couple per day. The shows were outstanding & the cruise director was one of the best we have seen. The Panama Canal was fantastic & why we took this cruise. Internet price was high.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got on board very quickly & that left us plenty of time to explore the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining rooms, specialty restaurants & buffet were great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Cruise Director Callie Smit was one of the best we have ever had on any cruise. His morning show was funny & his daily question to win a bottle of champagne won us two bottles in two days. The pools were enjoyable each day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ship's singers & dancers were outstanding. Their band was fantastic & the entertainers were excellent. All the shows were very good & fun to watch.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The waiters were excellent & our room steward was fantastic. Our room steward was so fast that we thought she was "Super Woman"!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean ship but they have blocked the walking track around the ship on deck seven with more balconies taking part of the track.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony stateroom was big enough for us & it was always kept clean by our stateroom steward. The shower is small.

Ship tip

On deck 10 & 11 you can walk to the front of the ship & stand outside to see the sights coming up. It is a great place to view the Panama Canal from. Go as far forward as you can in the hall & open the white door & then the wooden door to the outside.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Easy to get to the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We took the tile factory & tequila tasting tour & it was fun! The coffee/chocolate tequila was the best!

Huatulco, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the Copalita Archaeological Exploration & enjoyed it but it was soooo hot! Huatulco was very clean & nice! Landscaping along the streets was well done.

San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua

The Lake Nicaragua cruise was very very good!

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

The Eco-Jungle River Cruise is a must! Crocks!!!!!!

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
This is why you take this cruise! The wonder of building this canal comes to life right in front of you! Just incredible!!!!

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
The fortress was not for those with walking problems. You could really feel the history all around you. The street vendors will NOT take no for an answer so that kind of ruined it.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
The snorkeling cruise was great & would have been better if the water had not been so rough. The rum punch they made, though, made it better on the way back to the ship!

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We carried our own luggage off the ship early but the door to the meeting room did not open on time & they had no order whatsoever in how you lined up to leave. We started a line outside the meeting room door before 7 am & the door was not opened until at least 10 minutes after. People, with their bags just kept getting off the elevators in front of the room & crowding in. When the room doors opened, the first in became the last out & those late arrivals outside became the first off when we all had to go back out the same doors we came in. This also happened on some of our port tours when they let those just getting off on their own with NO TOURS crowd into those of us with paid tours. It became a massive mess that caused us to lose some of our tour time at two of the port stops.

pre-order the water before the cruise it'll be brought to your room and it's $0.58 a bottle just got off a 28-day cruise and pre-ordered 72 bottles of water it's the best way to do it.
