Review summary

We loved the cruise. Only part we didn't care for was not having any phone service the whole time. We had a family emergency just before boarding and couldn't call home to check on things and neither could the ship. Could have paid for internet for way too much but according to most of the people we met on ship that did purchase minutes there were numerous problems from it not working to running their minutes off is first hour because of lack of instructions. Crew for the most part were very helpful but had  a hard time understanding heavy accents at times.

cabin was adequate. Wish we had a floor to ceiling window ocean view. Glenn, our steward, was excellent. Very helpful and attentive to our needs in any way.

Ship tip

Evening can be a windy and cool so bring a light coat for on deck outings. Loved the movies under the stars but was very cold so dress warm. If planning on attending a show get there plenty early for a seat if planning on the early show. No problem is going to late show.

Next time get whatsapp. With it and Internet you can text, send photos and movies and make voice calls without special service. My cousin is on a 14 day cruise and we are in constant communication. Internet often depends on cabin location. We went on Emerald to Alaska in may and never had a problem.
