We just returned after spending 10 days on the Island Princess. There was nothing not to like about this cruise! We loved the fact that the entire crew was so diverse and from various countries. The service was outstanding and we were truly pampered and spoiled. We woke early and were probably the last persons awake on the boat. Our only disappointment was the lack of people in the 35-45 age group.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The meals were exceptional and our waiter was not just informative about the ports and the boat, he was also willing to share information about his culture and life. Meal portions were more than adequate. If you eat within the parameters of the portions, there is no reason to gain weight. We were all fearful of that but after our daily activities and eating within the limits of the meal, we were delighted to return home at our previous weight or having lost weight from being so busy and active.

The shows are more tailored to an older group but we still enjoyed them. They were generally an hour or an hour and a half long. Not too long and not too short - just perfect. We seemed to always be searching for something to do after 11pm - everyone seemed to fade away or go to bed early. Nonetheless, we always found crew to talk to and visit with and enjoyed listening to their stories and learning about them.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Exceptionally friendly and social. We did not encounter one crabby or impatient employee.

Ship Quality

Everything was immaculate and clean. The decor was wonderful. We could always find a quiet, private area to relax.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our room was always clean. Our steward seemed to go out of his way to keep our room clean (not an easy task with four women in a room) and he kept our cooler supplied with ice and clean towels in our room. Our only inconvenience was the size of the room - with four women trying to dress and get ready, it would get quite cramped.

Pros: Everything!

Cons: lack of nightlife
