It was a Christmas cruise to Mexico, and the ship was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and lights all over the place. For a December cruise we had fantastic sunny weather, and was able to sit by the pool on the 2 last days at sea. We were also happy that we had a balcony room, especially in Cabo, when you had to anchor away from the dock - the famous arch was incredible. Our major complaint was the food was either too salty, or overcooked, or had strange spices, and we were happier eating at the 24 hour restaurant. However, the desserts were wonderful, and so was the Cajun restaurant, and because the food was cooked to order, it was worth paying the extra $30. The Broadway-style shows were incredible, but since this was during Christmas and we stayed up late, there wasn't anything to do after the shows ended at 11:15. Yes, there was the disco, but not enough people went there. It would've been nice if there were nightly midnight movies. However, my daughter (18) and I managed to have fun in the game room, where there is a large variety to entertain all ages. There were way too many choices for shore excursions, but we were happy we chose horseback riding along the beach in Cabo, and did the city tour in Mazatlan, and in Puerta Vallarta we went to the Fiesta, and Tequila factury, which was an all day event, and so much fun.

Food and Dining

The food left a lot of room for improvement. The anytime dining didn't work out (perhaps because the ship was over-crowded, due to Christmas), and the specialty option was the best choice we made.

We loved the Broadway-style shows, and wished we had them every night. They had comedians that got a little stale after a while, but overall it was good entertainment. We also appreciated that the ship not only had Christmas services, but also had 2 night of Hanukkah celebrations.

Service and Staff

My daughter caught a cold, and slept in the last 2 days. The steward was so patient, and would clean the room in the mid-afternoon. Needless to say, he got the biggest tip from us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was bigger than other ships I've been on, but was clean and beautiful. Sometimes the hand-sanitizing got a little annoying, especially when the hostesses at the 24 hour restaurant practically poured it on you, but it was for a good cause - no one that I know of got the Norovirus on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

We loved having a balcony room, and were very close to an elevator mid-ship. The layout was poor, too much wasted closet space, and we were constantly bumping into each other. We solved the problem by putting a couple of the small tables in the closet and moving the beds so they were facing the balcony. Our room steward got a big laugh from us, but we figured if we were going to spend a week in that space, we were going to make it work for us.

Pros: The ship was beautiful and clean + the waiters & our room steward were the greatest.

Cons: Paying for sodas and ice cream (they were always included on other cruises) + the anytime dining required too long of a wait, so we immediately changed to late seating.
