Bad timing for a cruise at Spring Break. Too crowded. Not the cruise line's fault. But we were misdirected by ship staff for our first excursion and missed it, and the last one was missed because it "took too long to clear the ship" at that specific port. Our excursions were mostly all day affairs in the ports we visited and when you arrive late, you totally miss out. There was no compensation for missing out other than a reimbursement for the cost of the excursions and the offer to book other excursions, but none were comperable. It made for a very poor experience for a first time cruise, and more than likely it will be our last.

Pros: The thought of going on a cruise

Cons: The actual going on a cruise. Bad timing. Too crowded. Ship was full. 3,600 passengers

Recommends Independence of the Seas? No.
