Went well, although old ship!

Sail Date: August 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was clean and kept up well for being so old. Good thing carnival is retiring it! The pools very disappointing but for good reason of age. Other wise the cruise experience overall good.

Pros: The room steward were great along with our dining room staff and the food.

Cons: Since old ship, no good pools for the number on kids on ship.

Recommends Holiday (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
ONLY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WERE THE POOLS! ALSO WE ALWAYS DRESS FOR DINNER AND THEN HAD TO SIT IN A BOOTH!
Children's Programs
Food and Dining
OUR DINING ROOM STAFF WAS GREAT! JUST DISAPPOINTED TO HAVE TO SIT IN A BOOTH DRESSED UP. ALSO SINCE SO CASUAL BEING AROUND OTHERS WHO CHOOSE TO BE IN SHORTS IN THE DINING ROOM KIND OF RUINS THE ATMOSPHERE.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Entertainment
THE SHOWS ON THIS SMALL SHIP WERE EXCELLENT AND WE HAVE CRUISED ALOT OF CRUISE LINES.
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
EASY ACCESS TO PUBLIC BEACH AND WAS NICE WITH PLENTY TO DO THERE. SOME PLACES THERE THE PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY.
Don't Miss: BUDDYS RESAURANT AND AREA ON BEACH WAS OWNED BY AN AMERICAN SO EASY TO COMMUNICATE AND GOOD FOOD. ALSO CLEAN RESTROOMS AND FREE LOUNGE CHAIRS.
Cozumel, Mexico
HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE AND LIKED TO SNORKEL BUT LIMITED PLACES TO GO ON OWN LEISURE, HAD TO PAY FOR AN EXCURSION AT AN EXPENSIVE RESORT TO SNORKEL ALL DAY, BUT WE MADE THE BEST OF IT WITH THE INCLUDED MEAL AND DRINKS. THE SNORKELING WAS FINE BUT THE RESORT WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE PIER SO SCENERY STUNK!
