Nice cruise

Sail Date: March 14, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Nice old ship, needs updating, meat at dinner meal was dry, needed au jus in prime rib and gravy or au jus in flat iron steak otherwise very good meals. Need better security measures in place for obscene and loud, rowdy neighbors who keep people up all hours of night. Did not rest much at night. Will never cruise during spring break and not sure would cruise on holiday, too small. Good entertainment, esp. juggler and cruise director.

Pros: steward for our cabin very nice and helpful

Cons: noisy neighbors kept us up till 5:00 a.m. most nights

Recommends Holiday (RETIRED)? Yes!

Entertainment
Pretty good overall, liked juggler best.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very clean and well maintained each day.
Ship Quality
Very clean, okay layout, need more for families. Ping pong needs to be in contained area, cannot play on windy days. Pool for adults needs to be much larger and children not allowed.
Food and Dining
Other than meat at night which was dry on 3 occasions, needed to be left in au jus and served on the side or a gravy for flat iron steak rest of meals were good. Was disappointed in your fruit, not as fresh as I had heard and not very sweet esp. at breakfast (oranges and grapefruit was bitter). Didn't like cold muffins, danish, etc. No doughnuts
Service and Staff
We had a very friendly staff, always there to help. Our cabin steward even talked to the noisy and rude neighbors next door (3 black men in their 20's) who were drunk most of the time and cussing, but to no avail. They would just start up later that night again.
Cozumel, Mexico
Was somewhat disappointed in Cozumel, beaches in downtown were concrete. Shops had rude people trying to talk you into buying something you didn't want, very annoying. As far as free jewelry that was a waste of time, didn't get charms from only one, had to ask for bracelet. So guy who talked about shopping was a waste as far as giveaways.
Don't Miss: Don't go to Gallery Istanbul. They took me into a room by myself with 3 other men coming in, was quite scary. Finally got out of there.
