Great Family trip

Sail Date: February 02, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

Ship was clean though there was a stench throughout. Not sure what it was.

Pros: Being able to do stuff with each other

Cons: Getting off the ship

Recommends Holiday (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
Public Restrooms were usually not very clean.
Food and Dining
Wish they had more restaurants to choose from
Cabin / Stateroom
On par with other cruise ships
Service and Staff
Room staff and our table waiter were fantastic. My husband is a diabetic on a low carb diet and they made sure that he was taken care of but the other cleaning staff did not look happy and were curt when you asked them a question
Entertainment
Average Carnival entertainment. We went on a carnival cruise 2 years ago and they had the same show this time around too.
Children's Programs
We had teens with us and there were about 15 teens on board tho no one took part in any of the youth activities.
The younger kids had a build a bear workshop so I know they loved it!
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
We loved Progreso,we took a shore excursion to see a Mayan temple. It was great. There are a few shops right at the dock which had the usual touristy stuff but was cheap.Really cheap.Definitely stock up on souvenirs at Progreso as Cozumel is expensive.
Don't Miss: The souvenirs at the dock
Cozumel, Mexico
It has become very touristy. It docks at the expensive shops! We had been on a Norwegian cruise to Cozumel before and it docks halfway down the shoreline and the shopping is better there. But the dock where the Fantasy docked is beautiful
Don't Miss: Not much you will miss
