First but not last Cruise!

Sail Date: March 01, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

For our first cruise, it was a great experience for my fiance and I. It took about two hours to learn the boat and the safety procedures which was great! Our stateroom steward was great and he kept our room cleaned three times a day. Room service was also great because we can order anything at anytime. Also the photographer on the boat was awesome! The food was great and you had plenty of options to choose from. We met wonderful people from everywhere! The shore excursion in Cozumel was great the bike ride and snorkel. We did not like porting into Calica because it was an industrial park in which you have to take a taxi to Playa del Carmen which was about ten mins away.( very beautiful beaches by the way) But we will recommend this cruise to anyone especially for your first cruise!

Pros: We loved the food, stateroom, friendly staff and cleanliness!

Cons: We did not like the rough seas but it was uncontrollable and the debarkation to Mobile took forever!

Recommends Holiday (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
Older ship and please be aware of one of the elevators you might get stuck!
Service and Staff
Very friendly!
Food and Dining
Line may be long for the buffet on Lido deck. Dining room food was good. You can order more than one meal at a time.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom steward was great! He was friendly and great! The upper level room was the best because we slept in late without being disturbed from the sunlight!
Entertainment
Great entertainment for everyone especially the nightclub! Priceless!
Children's Programs
We rarely knew children was on the boat!
