Good Cruise experience

Sail Date: February 08, 2007

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

I recommend the Holiday if you are going for the "Adult Party" type atmosphere only. I would not recommend this ship for the Family with small children or teen-agers. Alcohol and Gambling seem to be the priority and is common to all decks and common areas.

Pros: Cabin and Wait Staff; very attentive to our needs and comfort

Cons: Crowded common areas

Recommends Holiday (RETIRED) 39? Yes!

Ship Quality
Common areas were crowded at times during meals and Deck events. The decks were in good order and clean, the crew is the best feature of the Holiday, in my opinion.
Food and Dining
(Seven Seas Dining area)The wait staff is one of the best. Andy and Henry went above and beyond to satisfy our whole table. The food was a great feature as well with a great upscale variety if foods for fine dining. (The Wharf) Great variety of food for Breakfast and Lunch. Terrific Salad Bar.
We did not experience several parts of the ship because we do not drink or Gamble, which seems to be the main theme behind most of the activities on the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
Plenty of room to get around. The room was well kept by the staff and very comfortable. Vibrations from the ships engines could be felt constantly, more during docking.
Service and Staff
The staff of the Holiday is the best feature of this ship. Unbeatable service and attention to detail.
Children's Programs
We did not have kids on board with us, but we have two kids of our own. The Holiday did not seem to be the best ship to bring young children on due to the environment surrounding Alcohol, however, the kids that were entertained during the day by the Care staff seemed to be very happy and taken care of.
Cozumel, Mexico
We experienced Cozmel by taking in a SCUBA dive at the Sand Dollar Diving Center. We were greeted by a freindly staff member (Tomas) and were well taken care of throughout the excursion by Poncho who greeted us at the dive center and paid for cab), and Francisco (the dive instructor and guide). We did not go into the resteraunts or bars. We did shop at the plaza and were pleasantly suprised by the selection of native items and souvineers.
Don't Miss: "Beginners SCUBA" at "Sand Dollar Dive Center"
