Fun Cruise to Bermuda/Bahamas/Coco Cay by mtlcruisefamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our 9th cruise, 2nd with Royal. After cruising on the Oasis, I have to say that the small to medium size ship are more attractive to me. We are a family of four, and travel with friends Would I sail her again? Yes, for 2 reasons, no need to fly from where we live, drove to the departure port the night before, stayed at the Best Western in Elkridge , one night and provided parking for the duration of the cruise, really convenient. Complimentary breakfast, great staff, clean rooms. Shuttle to and from the port and they also drove us and picked up from Arundel Mills Mall nearby. The ship has a few itineraries that are of interest, would do Bermuda again, New England Canada cruise and have my eye on the 12 night southern Caribbean itinerary. Overall a great cruise

Great 12 night Caribbean Cruise by robinudel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Thoroughly enjoyed this Southern Caribbean cruise. All the stops were good except St Croix was lacking. Service everywhere on ship was excellent. Love this smaller more intimate ship. Less bells and whistles than the newer larger ships but really did not miss them. Will sail Lady G again. Extra note, embarkation and disembarkation were very quick.

WOW! Wonderful Cruise to Canada and back to Baltimore by eugeneb934

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

If you haven't cruise before you should definitely try it! This was my 3rd cruise and the number 1 statement I tell my friends is "you can do everything or nothing" whatever pleases you. Take the family, spouse, of friends something to do and entertain for everyone of all ages.

Cruising Bermuda by Cruiser80866787

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The Grandeur of the Seas offers excellent service.  The rooms are immaculately kept and the dinner service is top-notch.  I would like a little more variety in the menus both in the Great Gatsby and the Windjammer.  The Broadway type shows in the theatre should be shown after the late dinner seating as well as before.    And we never saw the aerial show in the Centrium.  That needs better description in the Compass.  The Captain was very personable and was everywhere interacting with the passengers.  Very enjoyable cruise.

Loved the ports, hated our room! by lberney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This was the first time we had sailed on Royal Caribbean, so we knew nothing about the ship's layout, dining, etc.  We worked with a travel agent and he booked us an inside cabin that we assumed would be fine.  I should note we booked this cruise 7 months before departure so there were plenty of cabins for our travel agent to pick from!  The room was NOT OK.  I will talk more about that in the cabin review section.  Overall, the cruise was fine.  We loved the ports and the food in the main dining room!  We never ate at any of the specialty restaurants because the food in the main dining room was so good.  Also, the ship offered a sushi-making class that was a fabulous deal!  For $30 each, we got to make a Calofornia roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and two pieces of nigiri (when sliced, that made 18 pieces of sushi)!  We also got miso soup and unlimited bellinis.  It was a great class with lots of food and drink.  I definitely recommend it!

Our Anniversary vacation. by Bucher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We have cruised 10 times now and plan to do more when we retire.  Nine of the ten were to Bermuda.  This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, and overall it was a good cruise.  The Staff was great!  Better than the other cruise line we usually use.  State rooms were fair and the mattress need to be upgraded/changed.  Entertainment was ok, however the comedians were great!  Poor Late night food, small gym, and rock climbing wall.  There was a sewer smell in the hallways all the time (Needs to be addressed!)  Since we have sailed to Bermuda nine times and lived their for thirteen years we know that the cruise ships can make it there in 1 1/2 days depending on the size of the ship so they could get there sooner and have more time on the island (but it is really the island that makes that call, not the cruise line).  Kings wharf is too far from the good places on the island.  The island needs to make improvements in Hamilton so more cruise ships can dock there and be centrally located to most of the attractions.  I also hate to see the five day cruises to Bermuda and less of the seven days, which in a couple of years most of the cruise lines who travel to the island will be going too!

First cruise and I'm ready to go again! by DonnaJLiebhardt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Even the first day storm we went through was fun (staggering down gangways).  Staff was great and if you wanted to do something while at sea all you had to do was go (and leave your cabin).  I thought it was a geat value.  I liked the smaller ship though we were dwarfed by all other ships in every port.  A fantastic first cruise!

Great Birthday Celebration!!! by BhamaMama

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was second trip on the Royal Caribbean cruise line. I took this cruise to celebrate my 60th B-Day and I had a blast! The food in the Windjammer and The Great Gasby was absolutely wonderful. The entertainment and activities was great. The ship's staff from the stateroom attendents to spa staff made you feel at home. Whatever you wanted to do, from relaxing watching the sunset, reading, dancing or working out to stay fit. It was ALL on the Grandeur of the Seas. I will definiately be looking forward to making future cruising on the Royal Caribbean.

New Year’s Eve Cruise by a1970penny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

All and all it was a great time. Celebrating NYE on a cruise ship has been one of my favorite things to do ringing in the new year. The ship is smaller than the rest of the newer ships. As compared to the Anthem of the seas and the SeaPlex, There are not as many things to do. The crew was extremely friendly. The cruise director and entertainment staff were a lot of fun. The food was ok, except in the Chops Grill. The food at the restaurant was superb. I always make an effort to visit this restaurant once every voyage. It never disappoints.

Not what I thought by livestotravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Coco Cay was the only part of the the cruise I enjoyed. The beach though was awful. The pool was a great party. I enjoyed that day. As fir everything else.,. Bad the internet was horrible. No customer service and many if the crew could hardly speak English. Never will I go in this ship again. Felt like I was ripped off. Over priced fir what it was.
