Wonderful and relaxing! by snuzzyq

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Everyone was so nice and we felt so relaxed and pampered. I loved not having to do anything at all and knowing my cabin was being serviced twice a day. Giovanni's was the ultimate dining experience. To be honest, we were not impressed with Chops Grille. The MDR was ok for the most part, especially lobster night. The waiters were awesome though! The Windjammer was terrific and the assortment was always changing. We absolutely loved the pool and sauna area and the ice cream machine! The music was fabulous -- especially the Real Time Band. We enjoyed the shows in the Centrum with Mike and his crew. Tried out for the Love and Marriage Game show but unfortunately weren't chosen. The one thing I would say about that is the way players are chosen isn't really fair to those who are traveling as a couple. Others had family in the audience who cheered them on when auditioning and couples were chosen by how loud the audience was, so basically the more friends or family you had, the better your chances. But maybe next time!

Great port by saburke1234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Over all this is the cruise we will do again. As there is much to see and do. We really enjoyed the idea of being in the port for such a long period of time we were able to take advantage of all the activities and still left more to be done

Beautiful Bermuda by gamaze

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Smaller ship gave us the opportunity to meet many very nice people. We would see each other just about each day at different venues. Entertainment ends about 11pm, this is not a big party ship which is what we were looking for.

Great Trip to Bermuda by NCRuss

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We always enjoy sailing on Royal Caribbean ships and Grandeur of the Seas met our expectations. This is the first time that we had been in a Grand Suite (and it had two bedrooms); we were upgraded from a Junior Suite two weeks before the cruise. I snore; so having a separate room to sleep in was a real bonus. In my room, which was just inside the stateroom entry, there are two drop down bunks in the ceiling. That room can sleep four people. This is why the stateroom is often referred to as a "Family Suite" Between the entry and the room I slept in is a large, spacious closet with a lot of storage; this is where the lifejackets are stored. Across from the room and closet is a standard bathroom. Along the hallway from the entry is the usual desk with mirror and two standard electrical outlets. The hallway empties into the main sitting area of the stateroom. It has a couch and three chairs. The access to the balcony is from this space. One can watch TV in the sitting area and not disturb those sleeping in the first room. To the right of the sitting area are the main sleeping area and main bathroom. This bedroom has its own desk with mirror and the bathroom has a tub with shower. They no longer put tissues in the bathrooms, we asked the attendant and he put a box on both desks (they were inside drawers at the desks). We had breakfast in the Chops Grille and enjoyed the quietness and the service. Also, we up to the Concierge Lounge every evening. It is also a quiet place to sit and relax. Bermuda was windy most of the time we were there, but it was comfortable enough to wear shorts and short sleeved shirts. On the first afternoon, we took the five hour minibus tour around the island which was enjoyable. The driver was very informative about Bermuda; because his normal job is as a bus driver, he kept telling us which bus to take to get to various spots of interest. The next day we shopped in the Dockyard area. There is a tram that will take you around the Dockyard. After shopping, we ate lunch at the Frog and Onion Grille. We highly recommend this pub. We now have plans for when we next come back to Bermuda next year. Disembarkation from the ship was worth the price of admission (cost of the stateroom). We waited in the Concierge Lounge, taken down to the 1st deck, off the ship and priority through Customs. We were off the ship and waiting for our transportation by 8:30 am. We very fortunate to get the 2-bedroom Grand Suite, but would do it again!

Amazing! by geebug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

From embarkation to disembarkation, this cruise was amazing. The staff could not have made us feel anymore at home! We all felt that the staff cared that we enjoyed ourselves. We ate all of our evening meals in the Great Gatsby -- thank you especially to Yogesh and Putu -- our waiter and his assistant. Most of our breakfasts and lunches were at the Windjammer. Very enjoyable! Great food and great service. Although rough seas kept us from stopping at two of the ports of call (Boston and St. John), the crew worked hard at rearranging the schedule in order to ensure there was plenty to do on the ship. In the last couple of days, envelopes were available for additional tips for any crew member who went out of their way to make your cruise special. I recommend taking extra cash for that (although you can add it to your room tab). The ATM on the ship has a $6 fee. I highly recommend traveling on the Grandeur of the Seas!

Good first experience by tmorgan213

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

The food was not good, only the places that costed extra were good. Service was good and staff were nice and friendly everywhere on the ship. Drink packages are way too overpriced and not really worth it

Love the Grandeur! My second... by CleJackie

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Love the Grandeur! My second time on her and I was not disappointed. Great food, friendly crew, small ship is easy to navigate. You can’t beat the view from the aft suites. Port of Baltimore is great too. Nice workers and very quick process.

The ship is maintained well.... by mjob

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

The ship is maintained well. The dining room chairs were replaced since our last cruise and they are a bad choice. They are comfortable, however, you can't move them. Once you sit down, you are held captive until it is time to leave and you can get help moving them away from the table. The dining room staff is young and new and haven't learned to step out of the way to let guests (especially the slower elderly guests) go by first. They were cutting us off instead of waiting for us to walk by. Our waiter and assistant were excellent. Overall, very happy with the ship and crew. Will be on it again in December.

Shirt but nice by mharsh462

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Because of Florence our trip was shortened. Only one port Halifax. Arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Took a van tour around town and out to Peggy's Cove. Had a nice time there. Went to the cementary where victims of the titanic were buried. Found this to be interesting and it was my pleasure to pay my respect. Grandeur was only half full lots of cancellations. No long lines anywhere. Getting on and off was very quick. Quest game was fun. Chops was delicious, wife got hot coffee spilled on her, but all was good. Not a fan of my time dining, waiter Perry and assistant were nice. Only ate there twice out of five nights. Windjammer was really good. Room 4012 was nice, quiet part of the ship. Shows as usual was good, both comedians were funny and it was nice they had them in the theatre. Staff were friendly and customer service people were wonderful. RCCL was very generous in compensation to those who decided to cruise. As usual there are a few people who are rude and believe it's all about them, alcohol plays a big part in that, and staff doesn't or maybe can't enforce policy. It could ruin some peoples cruise but, you got to expect it and hope it doesn't happen. Don't forget to go up to the Viking lounge, nice and quite during the daytime. Check out the Park cafe excellent breakfast sandwiches. Liked the information update from the Captain every day at noon. Overall our group of six had a wonderful time and I would give the ship and staff 5 stars. Probably will book the New England/Canada cruise in the future to go to the four ports we missed. I would recommend this ship and staff members for anyone considering a cruise, job well done. Sailed 9/17-22/2018.
