Grandeur of the Seas

8 Night Southeast Coast & Perfect Day (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 20, 2020

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

It was a nice cruise. Sailing from Baltimore was convenient although it took us a day longer to get out of the bay due to weather. As our first Royal Caribbean cruise, I'd rate it much better than Carnival for what we like but not as nice as Celebrity.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our last cruise before the pandemic. We paid extra for "The Key" and it was worth the cost. Priority boarding and the extras.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good, but in my humble opinion, not as good as Celebrity.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service and staff were very nice but for us, it always seems to come back to a comparison with Celebrity. Just didn't have the "little things" we always appreciate about Celebrity.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin (sorry, don't remember the number) was clean and we'll maintained but it was the first time we tried an inside cabin and I'm rating it 3 stars because it just wasn't for us. We'd much prefer to be able to see outside and open a balcony door.

Ports of call

Just beautiful!

Took an excursion to Disney World (Epcot). Wonderful day!

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Disembarkation

Again, we purchased "The Key" so we had priority disembarkation. Very smooth and well worth the cost.

I LOVE both Royal and Celebrity, I'd cruise either one any day! Grandeur will always hold a special place in my heart, as she was my first Royal cruise!

Thanks for the review. I’m glad you had a great cruise and I’m guessing that you’ll avoid interior cabins in the future.
