Review summary

Worst experience ever. Will not go out of Baltimore again

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Awful embarkation. We were not told that the cruise terminal would not open until 5 PM. We arrived at 2:30 PM, expecting to wait in the terminal area. Have done this with other cruises - some terminals have had restaurants! We were turned away at the gate and told: "we don't know where you can go but just go away!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Nothing special

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Casino leaked smoke smell onto other areas.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Last show was not performed due to storm. Performers could have sung the songs without the dancing - I've seen that happen before.

Children's Programs

I had no children with me.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
nothing special was done.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5

Ship tip

Grandeur was a nice ship but don't use the port of Baltimore, MD

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
ship was 2 houre late arriving back but passengers had to exit rooms at 8 AM and wait in the theater or dining room. There did not seem to be a disembarkation plan for late arrival with the staff. Public bathroom were getting smelly and bad.

I'm not sure why the late (5 p.m.) boarding but it must have been an unusual occurrence. I've cruised on Grandeur out of Baltimore 15 times over the years, and embarkation was always smooth and well organized. Most of the times I arrive at the terminal at 10:30 a.m. and by 11 a.m. I am eating in the Windjammer. Love the Grandeur.

We had a great experience in Baltimore last month. Not sure why you weren't able to get to port until 5.
