Coco Cay was the only part of the the cruise I enjoyed. The beach though was awful. The pool was a great party. I enjoyed that day. As fir everything else.,. Bad the internet was horrible. No customer service and many if the crew could hardly speak English. Never will I go in this ship again. Felt like I was ripped off. Over priced fir what it was.

They mixed myself and my friend with couple and gave her someone else’s card.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The fine dining restaurants were good. Main dining awful. Odd hours. Horrible service. Ignored or rudely spoken to. Food cold. The buffet was a chore. Never enough tables. Always had to fight your way around for food. Never have I dreaded going to one.
Onboard Activities

The pool lmao was way too small and the hot tubs full of kids. The pool accommodation was 44. Yes on a ship of 2000+? Wow. Getting towels was like asking for gold. Just tacky.
Entertainment

Not much in the way of this either. The nightclub was s joke. Slow songs only ? We left. A 70s dance in the centrum. Again, way too small no space and a bunch of kids. Awful songs. No Bee Gees? How can you have a 70s dance without them? Horrible singers. Just play the original songs.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
This was a hit or miss. Again some bar staff were excellent and fine dining were as well. That is where it stops. The steward was just weird. Always hanging around asking where we were going . All the time. More like a warden. Asked fir extra towel and told no. The room was made up for a couple and he came and took everything out. Would not even leave the water and I had drink package. Again tacky. Main dining rude.
Ship Quality

Old and dusty. Needed a deep cleaning. My friend and I allergens were acting up. Window was so dirty we could hardly see out of it.
Cabin / Stateroom

Dirty shower curtain. Never enough towels and don’t ask for any cause you will be told no. Shower flooded cause floor was too low. Need a glass door instead of filly curtain. Crud covered window. And uncomfortable beds. Squeaked like heck. Woke up with horrible dry mouth cause air quality was poor. Size too small but it is a ship.
Ship tip
Don’t go! Save your money and go to an all inclusive resort! Cheaper and MUCH BETTER SERVICE AND ACCOMMODATION.
Not too bad but they need to have people with mobility issues go in a group. We had a lady and a guy who walked so slow I felt like I was shuffling. Do like the airlines do it.
Next time try a date when the kids are back in school. I can’t believe the staff and food were so bad. I’ve been looking forward to my cruise in Oct I hope I have better luck then you. lmao
GOS is honestly my favorite ship. I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. Yes she is old and small but very well maintained and I have always had exceptional service
Theres another Pool at the solarium. Btw, the pic you posted of the main pool doesn’t look like the pools very crowded... so the other guests don’t seem to have a problem with that. On every cruise I ever experienced (including Grandeur) there was never a problem to get towels... the service on Grandeur was exceptional on our cruise. They did everything possible to make everyone happy. Yes it’s an older ship and that’s to be seen but it’s always what you make of it...
It sounds like cruising is probably not for you. Some of the things you mentioned are common to all cruise ships. The pools are never going to be large enough to accommodate even 10-15% of the people on board at one time just due to space limitations. The hot tubs have been packed most of the time on every ship I have been on. As far as the cost, We have always found cruising to be a much better value than almost any other type of vacation. We rarely pay over $100 per person per day for a cruise and that would barely cover the hotel costs in most places.
Maybe cruising isn't for you, sounds like you weren't happy with anything. This is an older and smaller ship so not sure what you were expecting. I've heard the service is wonderful on this ship.
