Grandeur delivered a great adventure. Thanks John & Katrina.

Embarkation

The Port at Baltimore is a well oiled machine and embarkation is quick and efficient. The personnel are pleasant and a good start to a cruise vacation. This is one of my favorite ports because of the great service and pleasant atmosphere.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food isn't a major draw for me but I found everything to be more than adequate. Some of the dishes were outstanding and we were certainly well fed! I love the choices which are offered at every meal and even in between. The bar service was excellent and the drinks were tasty.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I don't participate in a lot of activities, but John and Katrina Blair (The Cruise Director and Activities Manager Duo) are very good at drawing people to attend and enjoy. Activities of particular interest for me was John Blair's tribute to Neil Diamond. It is excellent entertainment! The other was a very elaborate and touching ceremony saluting the Veterans, first responders and Gold Star Families during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. As a military brat and military spouse, I found the whole program beautifully done and a perfect mixture of Memorial and Celebration. John, Katrina and the Grandeur of the Seas crew did a beautiful job with the ceremony.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
John Blair's salute to Neil Diamond is one of the best shows I have seen on the Seas. If you have a chance to see it, I do recommend it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service on the Grandeur of the Seas is EXCELLENT. The crew is so caring and go the extra mile to make the guests happy and to meet their needs. Because Grandeur isn't a large ship, it is easy to get to know different crew members and they are among the finest in the fleet.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Grandeur isn't a large ship, so there are less problems with getting lost. It is generally a relaxed atmosphere and a comfortable place to be. The housekeeping staff works tirelessly to keep the ship clean and they are wonderful hard working people. The ship is older, but well maintained and kept very clean and orderly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We like to have an interior room so we aren't bothered by daylight. This stateroom is just down the hallway from the Centrum and we could hear muted music in our stateroom at night. I didn't find it disruptive, but a nice gentle sound to lull me to sleep. The cabin is average size and well maintained. Lambert was our stateroom attendant and he did a great job keeping the room sparkling clean.

Ship tip

Grandeur is a great place to relax and enjoy. Remember to watch the Cruise Compass for all the different activities onboard.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland Did not visit port

Live so close to Baltimore that visiting here isn't a big deal... especially in conjuction with a cruise.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Bermuda is a gorgeous place to visit. There is so much to do! I highly recommend the Glass Bottom Boat sightseeing tour which showed the best of Bermuda and gave a lot of information about Bermuda. My husband said it was the best place he has scuba dived. It was beautiful!

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

I have been to this port so many times, we used our day in port to relax and enjoy the quiet on the ship

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
While I was under strict orders from my doctor to stay out of the sun, the group I was with loved the Perfect Day at Coco Cay. They spent most of their time at the "Legacy area" as they call it, which is the "old area" of Coco Cay. They were impressed with the changes to Coco Cay and the new venues for food and beverages. None of the group took an excursion, nor did they play in the new water park, but they loved the beach, sun, and snorkeling.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Perhaps it is because Grandeur isn't a large ship, or perhaps because Baltimore port staff is so efficient, but the disembarkation experience is always quick and painless. From leaving our staging area on board until we were in our car leaving the port parking area, lapse time was about 15 minutes. Very efficient operation.
