Review summary

This cruise was for my honeymoon. We enjoyed it for the most part. The crew was friendly and helpful. Most of the food was good. Bermuda was amazing! I want to return and stay longer. We had a lot of fun in the cupcake decorating class and playing trivia. The main things we didn’t like were issues with flies on our cruise and the signs the ship needs better maintenance. We also would have appreciated more adults-only time in the solarium. We had some bad weather, so I understand the need to give the kids pool time on those days; however, because the pool always closed early, we had two days with very little adult time. Also kids were not supposed to be in the whirlpools, but that wasn’t enforced.

Embarkation

The wheelchair services provided by both the port and the cruise line were outstanding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Main dining room was fantastic for dinner, so-so for lunch. The buffet didn’t have much variety and closed very early. We ate at Chops Grille and Giovanni’s Table. Both were excellent in terms of food.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My husband enjoyed the fitness center. We both liked the idea of the solarium, but there were too many hours when children were allowed in. We enjoyed our cupcake decorating class also.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainers were enthusiastic. We liked the dance band in the Centrum area. The adult comedy shows were pretty tame compared to what we were expecting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward took good care of us. Waiters were attentive. We had a mix-up on our reservation at Chops Grille. After speaking to Guest Services, we got a call from the manager of the restaurant, who invited us for a free meal due to the issue.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship definitely shows its age. At least one restroom stall was out of order most times I was in the ladies room. Lots of little things need attention: peeling paint, trim not on quite right, chipped tile. Our cruise also had an issue with flies the first few days.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had the base interior cabin. It’s much easier to sleep and works well at quelling motion sickness. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The only things I would change are putting in plastic doors instead of shower curtains in the bathroom and extending the faucet pipe so it goes to the center of the sink bowl.

Ship tip

If you can, go to the later dining seating. We had little to no waiting and outstanding service.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

We explored on our own. There are lots of things to do, but the drivers were so aggressive and people were so rude that I don’t want to return. No shore excursions were available.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

We rented an electric car and explored on our own. It’s a beautiful island with friendly people, delicious food, and lots of activities. Highly recommended!

Disembarkation

The cruise line was efficient and took great care of wheelchair passengers.
