Review summary

Had a wonderful experience and would definitely travel with Royal Caribbean and on this ship again! The staff was very friendly, there were plenty of activities or opportunities to simply kick back and relax if that's what you wanted. Ship was clean and comfortable. A terrific experience!

Embarkation

Well organized and smooth getting on the ship. I was a little surprised and disappointed to learn parking was going to cost $15 a day. I had not budgeted for that. Other than that, embarking was easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was wonderful for dinner! The food and desserts were delicious. Service by Romar and Natosha was top-notch. Did not care so much for the food At the Windjammer… As with most buffets, it was a tad bland for my taste.

Onboard Activities

Acupuncture seminar was informative. Solarium was wonderfully relaxing. Attended both of Jayne's talks about shopping and learned a lot.

Entertainment

We attende every show in the Palladium and every one was great! Comedian was hysterical, the orchestra was fabulous, and the Broadway show was my favorite-- amazing talent and energy.

Cabin / Stateroom

Perfectly functional for our needs. Plenty of storage space to put everything. Bed with a little bit firm for my taste, but that is subjective. Very clean, and comfortable outside of that. This has nothing to do with the cabin but I'm not sure where else to comment on it… I wish the ship had a few more TV channels that were English-speaking and not dedicated to covering things about the ship.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

3 out of 5
We embarked and disembarked from Baltimore. Did not visit, but there was an issue with disembarking. Nothing to do with Royal Caribbean or the ship… Not their fault. But the port only had two immigration officers when we arrived back in Port. Those two were supposed to service 2100 passengers and 800 crew. Needless to say it took a long time to get off the boat.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

Amazingly beautiful! And expensive, so be prepared. Did the shopping excursion to Hamilton… Learned a lot about the island history from the folks that took us there. Very informative. Sadly the excursion I was most excited about got canceled. It was a nighttime visit to the Bermuda triangle in a glass-bottom boat. The seas were too rough so they canceled it. Full refund, so no complaints. Just a little disappointed.

See comment about about ports of call. Not enough immigration officials to process the number of people getting off the boat. Took forever. Not the ship's fault. Royal Caribbean did everything they could to keep us comfortable while we endured the wait.
