The ship has lost it's Grandeur

Sail Date: August 01, 2014

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

This was one of the poorest cruises we have been on. Small room\, air that worked some of the time but woke up hot each night at 0300 with no air conditioning. Lack of fun programs to do. Crown and Anchor perks need to be improved as they have slipped. Staff wasn't engaging. Bar drinks sucked. Bar staff were boring and unengaged. Felt that the staff didn't want to try hard to make the trip fun as we have had on the last three cruises.

Pros: Chops steak house

Cons: Poor staff\, no air conditioning\, small rooms\, lacked any programs\, drinks were low quality mixes. bar staff unfriendly and stiff.

Recommends Grandeur of the Seas? No.

Entertainment
I liked the comics that were on board. The singers and dancers were good. The music act needed to be better. They sounded good but can you book current or newer acts not the fifties\, sixties and such. Even the old people slept through it.
Service and Staff
People were going through the motions and were not friendly or engaging. Had to complain three times and the customer service reps were not understanding and downright rude.
Cabin / Stateroom
Small. Can you say air conditioning that works all night long. enough said.
Food and Dining
Keep the rolls coming. Chops was top notch. Didn't like that I booked for full price before we sailed and then they offered discounts on board that we didn't get. There was an additional charge for the porterhouse that was included on other cruises. That didn't sit well with me. Good variety in the dining hall. The food at the Windjammer still needs help. Hot would be a start.
Ship Quality
Small\, clean but had rust in the bathroom. Weird smell in the hallways.
