Sail Date: February 01, 2010 Ship: Grandeur of the Seas Cabin Type: Oceanview Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 7 years ago
The ship is a small ship with only 2000 guest, but we felt that was a plus as opposed to 6000 guest on a ship. Ship was very clean, kept and maintained. Crew was as pleasant as I have ever come across. Shows weren't that great..we seen better for sure. The Myan Ruins were very educational..oganized and maintained. Cozumel..well the water is crystal clear and the reefs are are a site..the shopping and town ..take the $7.00 taxi ride into the city and get out of the square where you get off the ship. So much to see and do WOW and the shopping..wonderful bargains and so many options. Go to Carlos and Charles and Senor Frogs for a drink..fun places and lively.
Food and Dining

Food was average at best. No other dining other than main dining and buffett. Buffett food was below average. Many choices but not hot and not wonderful. Main dining is okay..Prime rib..steak..lobster..some fish options..usually salmon..but again not out of this world. The service makes up for a lot though. They really go out of there way to make you happy. The dining times are 6 and 8:45. Most ships have seperate resturants but not this one.

It was okay. The shows we left early and walked out on most of them. Different activities of course all the time. We are in out late 40's and a lot of things didn't intrest us. But they sured tried and a lot of energy. We may just be old fuddy duddies.
Service and Staff

Everyone on ship could not of been more helpful in every dept. We found everyone went above and beyond. From the wait staff..stateroom attendant..spa girls..every one that we came into contact always had a smile on there face and what can do to make your day attitude.

This ship has 2 pools one inside and one outside. Like 6 Hot tubs. Very nice areas. Plenty of deck chairs. This ship also has the rock climbing wall. Not asll the bells and whistles with a larger ship...but not a lot of small childen on board...due to no water slides and ice skating rinks..

We had an outside ocean view room, but on the 2nd deck. Economical deck. Smelled of raw sweage...in our room and the hall way always. The room size is fine and very clean. Keep in mind when you over pack that all the luggage and bags you bring will be in your room with no place at all the store. There was a little couch in out room. We never used as that is the only place we found to store out luggage was on the top of that. If you can afford get a higher deck that deck 2. Worth the oceanview to have some natural light come in and to see out.
