"Great place to celebrate an anniversary

Sail Date: April 22, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our second cruise on Royal Caribbean but our friends had not cruised with this line before. They heard us raving about last winters trip and asked if we would be interested in going. Of course we said "YES". Since we were all celebrating our anniversaries within a week of each other we picked this particular cruise. On one night we celebrated with balloons and streamers in our rooms and a cake at dinner. Our wait staff sang "Happy Anniversary" in a great voice.

Pros: Relaxing by the pool

Cons: Can't think of anything we didn't like

Ship Quality
The Grandeur of the Seas has a layout similar to the Enchantment of the Seas, the ship we sailed with last winter, so we had no trouble getting around. The staff was always ready to assist and were very gratious. We enjoyed the exercise room, steam roon and sauna also.
Food and Dining
We divided our time between the main dining room and the Winjammer Cafe. The outdoor barbecue the last night was great and the weather couldn't have been better. Many food choises for all taste.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room was very clean when we got onboard and stayed that way throughout our cruise. There was ample room for all the " nessasery clothes" we had to bring.
Service and Staff
Our room attendent was very pleasant, always asking if there was anything we needed, which there wasn't because she had already taken care of everything. Wait staff were curteous and ready to lend a helping hand.
Entertainment
We went to three shows and all three were great.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We went to an crocodile park where we climbed to a treehouse like structure and a rope bridge to view these amazing creatures. After we got to hold a baby crock.
Don't Miss: The many shops in the square right on the dock.
Cozumel, Mexico
We took our friends snorkeling where we had gone the winter before and we all had a great time. The water was calm, the sky clear and the fish were everywhere. The crew were very helpfull and stressed safety. Just got back my pictures today and they came out great. A day we will relive for many years to come.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling at the Palancar Reef
George Town, Grand Cayman
Since our friends had already visited Stingray City the year before we opted for the city tour and turtle farm. Had a good time and saw some HUGE turtles.
Don't Miss: Swimming with the stingray
