Sail Date: December 01, 2009 Ship: Grandeur of the Seas Cabin Type: Oceanview Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 8 years ago
Grandeur of the Seas was not so grand. The food was very Indian-inspired with curry and cumin in the majority of dishes. Low quality ingredients in the buffet restaurant, the Windjammer. Things were not kept cold either. The pizza was the worst pizza we've ever had. Ditto on the hamburg/hotdog "grill". If you go on this ship, don't expect high quality, but for the price, what can we expect, right? It was a budget cruise, and if you keep that in perspective, you won't be disappointed. The service was great though. The overall cruise was just average, but you can make your own fun and good time. Bring your own hair conditioner and body lotion.
Food and Dining

Really, the food in the Windjammer buffet restaurant was poor. The dining room's food was nice for the most part, but the steak was tough, and fish dry. Overall, it was better than the buffet by far. Bread was excellent.
Service and Staff

wonderful staff, and that is the thing that made it most enjoyable. Our dinner servers were fantastic.

poorly marked overall. Be careful with doorway steps etc.....lots of potential for tripping on this ship. Very slow sliding doors to outside decks. The main atrium was nice, and it looked to be updated recently. Lots of space to sit which was nice.
Cabin / Stateroom

no ammenities in bathroom except for body wash in shower. Older cabins, but fine. No bathrobes either in standard cabins. No chocolate on pillow at night. All I can say is that the cut-backs are obvious. Bed kept separating also (two twins pushed together).
