It was great leaving out of Tampa! We live about an hour away so it was easy to get to and the port was well staffed. We barely waited in line to get on & off the ship. Make sure to be aware of how much alcohol you can bring back from your destinations. We were only allowed 1 bottle per person tax free. Any more and you'll have to pay almost $3 each. Also, they don't allow you to bring opened bottles on the ship because Royal's policy is to hold your alcohol once you board and give it back to you at the end of the cruise and they can't give you back an opened container. Instead of doing an expensive excursion, we got off the boat and rented a jeep from alomo for only $55 for the day. Cozumel is only 30+ miles around so it was easy to navigate. We went to the ruins and only paid $6.50 per person (where as the excursion would have been $99 per person). They were neat but not as large as the ones on the main land. Other cruisers went to Chakanub Park and said it was great, only spent about $16 per person and you can snorkel there. The seas were a little rough during our trip because of the high winds but if you go to the Pursor's Desk, they'll give you sea sickness pills for free. All over a nice trip.

Pros: The Tampa Port was so simple & fast

Cons: We had some rough weather but overall pretty good

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
I didn't know this in advance - there's NO LOBSTER on a 4 day cruise! Only on cruises that are 5+ days do they serve lobster. I was so looking forward to it too.
Cabin / Stateroom
We went with the large ocean view stateroom and it was rather large compared to the other rooms.
Service and Staff
Marco, our waiter, was awesome! He remembered and called all of us by name.
Cozumel, Mexico
We rented a jeep for only $55 for the day from Alamo. The Ruins were neat but not as large as the ones on the main land. If you can get there yourself it's only $6.50 per person. I also heard Chankanaab Park was nice and is only $16 per person and you can go snorkeling there. We stopped by a restaurant on the Chen-Rio beach and the prices were astronomical. It's free to walk on the beach there and the large rocks let the water form a 'pool' so you can actually swim there. Instead of eating there, we went into downtown and ate at Costa Brava instead. The service was good there, prices were still kind of high but the food was authentic. We didn't get to do much shopping but did pick up some cheap Tequila. Definitely recommend 1921 Tequila - it tastes like Bailey's! Check the alcohol prices on the ship the day before you get to your destination so that you can compare when you shop because the other types of liquor were cheaper to buy on the ship.
