A Relaxing Cruise!!!!

Sail Date: February 24, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Grandeur is an older, smaller ship compared to Royal's newer and larger ships such as the Voyager. I travelled my first cruise ever on the Grandeur 7 years ago, then travelled on Voyager, and what a difference coming back!!!! Still a great ship, but a more intimate setting!

Pros: FOOD!

Cons: Beach at Cozumel, Mexico!

Recommends Grandeur of the Seas? Yes!

Service and Staff
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Had a large oceanview on the third floor - GREAT! If you don't spend a lot of time in your room, it is a perfect size!
Entertainment
Nothing over the top ... attended a show by the dancers and singers and wasn't blown away....
Food and Dining
Order everything upfront! If you want more then one entree, don't wait to order it later, order more then one upfront if you think you will want more.
George Town, Grand Cayman
I could spend a week in the Caymans and plan on going back for a week... Water and beaches were beautiful....town was very clean!
Don't Miss: Seven Mile Beach!
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Take a bus into downtown. Beaches are small, but beautiful and lots of activities.
Don't Miss: Cat's Meow Restaurant in "town" - Best coconut shrimp!!!!!!
Cozumel, Mexico
LOTS of Cruise Ships in town on the same day, so the town was very busy!!!! DO NOT go to San Francisco beach. Water is sooo clear everywhere until you get to this beach. From others I heard you should go to the Nature Park beach. San Francisco is not really a beach but a Beach Club that charges $8 per person just to sit on their chairs, use their showers, and use their "rafts". The water was DIRTY at the beach. It was not worth the taxi fare, and beach fee. Stay closer to town or go on an excursion!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling closer to town....
