She's a grand old lady and I respect the service she's offered to us. Sure, there are newer, larger, more spectacular ships out there but the Grand is such a nice size for a cruise. I don't appreciate the mega-ships, so I prefer something this sized. Oh yea, and I should have won bingo! haha
Don’t over pack. We challenged ourselves to only have carry on for a 15 day cruise. Did it and were very happy. Washed mid cruise. It was so worth it.
Review the Patter the night before and plan your next day. Helps to have a game plan to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Go and have fun! The ship is nice, the people wonderful, food and variety of food great!
Don’t be afraid to allow yourself have fun. Don’t be afraid to try new things
Pick a room midship or toward back. This is an old ship and is not smooth in front
know which elevators to go what floors
your'e on vacation, don't sweat the small stuff.
Overlook some antiquated design flaws, etc. You're on a wonderful vacation.
upgrade to a balcony room! It is worth it!
Bring less clothes. Check under the bed for luggage storage. We were able to place all 4 bags under it ❣️
walkers everywhere not for people under the age of 75
Depending on the Roughness of the seas you will be sailing, Book a cabin mid ship and on deck 12 or lower if you are suseptible to sea sickness. Deck 12 is just below the Lido Deck 14 so noise of chairs moving can be heard in your cabin.
Enjoy and have fun. There are alot of choices and activities inside the ship and choices of excusion. Excursion prices might be expensive, so plan in advance and see if they would price match.
I would not drive in and use the parking garage. It is so busy and chaotic where the ship is docked.
Don’t miss out on speciallty dining book early and same goes for excursions!! They sell out quick do before you sail !! for
Remember the limitations of the aft elevator banks...you can only go to deck 7 on the aft elevators...deck 6 aft elevators will only be good to go to Botticelli dining room...
Watch out for the room couches!
