Hallways are long but I really needed the exercise, so no problem. All restaurants and Buffets are Excellent, but if you are looking for a special treat, the specialty restaurants are superior and are an excellent value for the additional cover charge, Especially Sabatini's!
It took a few days to get used to the layout but it seemed ok.
We loved going out after dinner, seeing a great entertainment show and then going dancing. There were a couple of places to go with depending on the time of evening.
Belgian waffles for breakfast from the ice cream stand but the outdoor pool, only found out the second to last day on board.
Coffee card from Internstionsl Cafe good for free mighty leaf tea anytime.
I like being aft and up higher on the ship. I enjoy the motion and the vibrations and sounds of the engines. We loved our cabin location on deck 9, Dolphin. The only problem was numerous children running up and down the halls at night. But, it was a Christmas cruise, so I understand.
Grand Princess should really consider special discounted pricing for singles who want to be alone in a cabin. Why do they have to pay double? Many travel firms in Europe accommodate to single travelers and no extra fees are added to their reservations. Plan activities that don't involve money.
The Grand Princess is a large ship and needs a little to time to learn your way around. Everyone is always helpful to get you to where you want to be.
Take time and explore the ship!
Do your own research on the tours, I would simple taken a cab into town. If you want to ride cheap take the bus. we paid $28 for a cab and came back by bus for $3.
Great fun in the Casino and also playing bingo. Loved the cocktail hour daily at 3:00 buy one and get one drink for 1.00.
Food could have been better. New York steak tough. They should serve steak knives when ordering a steak. Lobster night great and delicious.
