Review Summary

Overall, an amazing Alaskan cruise! The customer service was excellent, and the ports were amazing. Pros: All Alaskan ports were beautiful with plenty to do. I suggest researching and planning your own excursions. In Juneau, we went on a bus tour of the city that took us to and from Mendenhall Glacier. Amazing! In Skagway, we rented a car and drive into Yukon Territory to see Emerald Lake. I’m so glad we did this, it was breathtaking. Glacier Bay was gorgeous and the ship spent a few hours cruising through this area, so lots of photography opportunities. Bring a warm jacket and scarf as it is very windy on deck. Ketchikan was picturesque. The stores near the ship are more expensive than the ones further out, such as shops on Creek Street, so shop around! The fish place next door to the lumberjack thing has great fish and chips. Finally, Victoria, British Columbia. We only had 5 hours at this port, starting at 7 am. We were going to rent a car and drive to Butchart Gardens but the rental car place wouldn’t take Visa Debit so we had to stay in town and walk around. Pretty town but not much time to do anything meaningful. I’ll visit this port again by car in the future. Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and efficient. Cons: Buffet food left something to be desired. Try the pizza and burger place on the lido deck for a quick bite, and focus more on the main dining rooms for lunch and dinner. We didn’t get a chance to try Sabatini’s but Crown Grill was great. The time in Victoria was quite short. It’d be nice if they’d extend that a bit. The ship could use some sprucing up but overall everything was clean and orderly. This cruise caters to older people, as it’s a very chill atmosphere with activities like bingo and trivia. Not necessarily a con, just depends on your personality.
