Embarkation/disembarkation were smooth. Princess has gone to great lengths to make this process very organized. Using the website to take care of pre check-in and excursion planning really makes the process so much easier. And the disembarkation talk on the last day at sea really was helpful so everyone was prepared. We were worried about catching an 11:45am flight from FLL. As promised with plenty of time, we were sitting at the gate at 9:45. Food was fabulous in the DaVinci and Michaelangelo rooms (preferred DaVinci although they have the same menu)can't say enough about them be sure to try the dessert souffles and don't be shy about asking for something not on the menu or to try more than one thing. I loved the Eggs Benedict that was on the menu one morning and when I asked for it the following morning they assured me it was no problem. Loved personal choice dining. We could eat whenever we chose and we always had the option of sitting alone or with a large or small group. The use of pagers for the short wait at busy times (never waited more than 20 minutes on a sold out cruise) allowed us to stroll through the atrium or to one of the lounges for a cocktail. We were not impressed with Sabatini's. First, the service was very disorganized and the restaurant was only 1/3 full. This type of menu would surely benefit from having organized seatings so that all the tables were on the same course at the same time. Second, some of the things simply weren't that good or weren't things that I cared to try and the things I did like. There were too many cold appetizers and too few other selections. We only got to try one of the four kinds of pizza on the menu but it was very good, the pasta selections were all outstanding (better gnocchi than the best Italian restaurants in Chicago and Italy that I've tried). The Painted Desert also had good food but the cover charge is out of line.(An $8 cover/person for tacos or fajitas even if it does include a margarita, is rediculous. The Horizon Court buffet was better than average, had a good selection but was in my opinion to small to handle the busy crowds especially at lunch. Often your food was cold by the time you got the things you wanted and found a place to sit down. The pizza was good. Room service that we ordered for the morning continental breakfast on the balcony was pleasantly always right on time, included everything we asked for, was fresh and hot! Also felt extremely taken advantage of that you could not use the soft drink package on the Princess Cays, where at the Princess bar, they were more than happy to charge whatever they could sell you on the Princess cruise card, but refused to recognize the package they had already sold you.The service was outstanding on every area on the ship. The dining room servers were very polished/professional. I was delighted that I had the option of choosing a bottle of wine that they would recork for me to enjoy with a future meal, since my husband is not a wine drinker. What a great service!Cruise director/staff were terrific. Lounges were too small with obstructed views, meaning getting there early or you have no seat or a bad seat. Had great massage in the spa, but beware of outrageous sales pitches that follows. Overall..Grand
