My husband and I (34- and 29-years-old, respectively), just returned from a 7-Day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Grand Princess. It was our first cruise and we can't wait to go on another one. Embarkation and disembarkation were exceptionally smooth. We pre-registered on Princess' website and highly recommend doing it as it speeds up the process. The ship was beautiful and very clean. Never felt too crowded, even in the pool areas. We used the fitness center twice. Treadmills were always busy, although you could reserve them up to one day in advance. However, there was plenty of other equipment available for a great workout with a beautiful view.Food and service were first class. We opted for personal choice dining and it worked out very well. We had no problems getting a table for 2 with no or a minimal wait, except for one night, but that night we were offered (and accepted) to be seated at a table with others immediately. The dress code was more relaxed than we expected, so the second formal night my husband happily got away with wearing nice slacks and a shirt. The variety and quality of food was fantastic in both dining rooms and buffet. We did not make it to Sabatinis or Painted Desert, but heard many people raving about Sabatinis. All of the staff were very pleasant, polite, and helpful. As far as entertainment, we attended two production shows that were excellent and a comedy show that was great. Had no problems getting good seats. The nightclub is really neat. There are lots of things to do for everyone and we were never bored. We did notice, however, that many activities were geared towards people in their 40s and up. We visited St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Princess Cays. St. Thomas was our favorite. St. Maarten was a bit too busy and dirty in the downtown area, but the beaches were gorgeous. Princess Cays was beautiful as well, but it helps to get there early in the day if you want to grab a chair in the shade.Overall, we had a wonderful time and it's been our best vacation so far.
