Not very Grand

Sail Date: September 01, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Grand Princess is a huge ship but not a huge pleasure. Little room in public areas, far too few spots in the computer center, dining staff not very interested or frienldy. The food was less than grand. Shore excursions lacked variety and quality. In all, the voyage was very average.

An outbreak of the cruise ship virus was never made public although we saw what was happening. Informing the passengers could have helped us protect ourselves.

Pros: ports of call

Cons: Grand Princess is a huge ship but not a huge pleasure. Little room in public areas, far too few spots in the computer center, dining staff not very interested or frienldy. The food was less than grand. Shore excursions lacked variety and quality. In all, the voyage was very average.

Recommends Grand Princess? Yes!

Service and Staff
efficient but not interested
Ship Quality
big, not friendly
Food and Dining
food was not enjoyable. I asked for some cheese for dessert and got a choice of 3 different loaves. Small portions with little of the "good stuff"
Cabin / Stateroom
what we expected
Entertainment
must not be very important to the Princess people
