We are yearly cruisers in our 40s/50s, and were bored out of our minds on this cruise (to the point we considered leaving the ship early). All of the activities and entertainment is geared towards a MUCH older, less active crowd (even the front desk confirmed this). If you enjoy a more quiet experience - i.e. knitting classes, bossanova music, in bed by 10pm - than this is the cruise for you. They do not offer a variety to appeal to all ages, even though there were some younger folks on board (although I’d say 75% on the guests were retirement age or older). The good news is that the casino will never be crowded so you’ll always get a seat at a table (and may often be one of a few people in there). Just watch the dealers! My son was cheated my a dealer who couldn’t count to 21 and when caught, the pit boss said “he’s just a trainee” and laughed. We will NOT be cruising with Princess again.

Cruise was excellent, would have liked to stay in Ketchikan a little longer. Food and room service was amazing

Once in a lifetime cruise and well worth it! Flight time was long but cruise itinerary was excellent. Saw so much beautiful scenery and people were very friendly in all ports.

It was a great trip. I loved New Zealand. I wish I had had time to stay in Australia!

Soooo worth doing this itinerary. And from this trip, don't not do a Princess cruised just because the ship is old, remember it is Princess.

My husband and I enjoyed all the trivia games and the court case game. We usually go to your room during the day but all the games kept us entertained from breakfast to the evening. A job well done Golden Princess staff.

Alaska is amazing and I encourage everyone to see the grandeur. Maybe choose a different cruise line

Our room attendant Saman was truly awesome, like to give him a shoutout for a job well done. The food was great, people we met from all over the world and staff were all great. This was my first cruise and already planning my next cruise

We absolutely LOVED our trip! Alaska was stunningly beautiful!! The ship was older but well maintained. Staff was exceptional. Food well above par. We would recommend this trip (and have), and Princess Cruises! Good value!

Overall a good experience. The Princess website did not allow us to book transfers to Whittier and we ended up having to find our own way. The drinks package that I bought was apparently meant for Stateroom use only- I found that out on the last day: Rookie mistake

Based on other passenger comments, food was below par but service good. We really enjoyed our time even with the weather being poor most of the whole trip. Overall very nice.

This was our first cruise and we had a wonderful experience. Only disappointed that there was not a free water and soda area for us that did not drink alcohol!! Great staff and entertainment.

overall, the cruise was as expected. Young children activities were lacking. Not enough for the 7 -11 year olds. Food was above average, service with Renaldo in the anytime dining was excellent. Ran out of soft serve chocolate mid cruise. 8 yr old unhappy. Not enough healthy food choices for kids.

This was our first cruise. I have been very hesitant to take a cruise. I didn’t find the prospect of being on a huge ship with over 2000 other passengers very appealing. But several friends and family convinced us to give it a try, so we joined 4 other people on a 7-day Alaska cruise from Vancouver BC to Whittier AK. If this was any indication of what cruise vacations are like, it will be my first and last cruise.

First time on Princess cruise line. Will sail with again. Can’t wait to check out their other shops.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this cruise and would certainly take this trip again. The experience of engaging with others from anytime dining is always a plus when cruising, this was no exception. Our favorite Island was Lautoka 100%, a must visit by all.

For the most part, the cruise went as expected.  However, it seemed from the moment we arrived on the ship that there was something not quite up to par with the staff.  I found the room stewards to be a surly lot, rarely smiling and it was difficult to even get a "good morning" out of them.  The bar staff (there were specific individuals that were great) seemed to wander around the bar/deck/casino aimlessly, rarely stopping and asking if you needed anything.  The food was mediocre in the dining room, the pizza was wonderful, the food at the buffet was barely edible most of the time.

As far as our ports went, Hawaii was very nice, Papeete was a major disappointment, Bora Bora would have been a disappointment had it not been for the wonderful tour that we booked (not Princess), Pago Pago was also a disappointment.  All of our stops in New Zealand were wonderful, it was a shame that we missed Akaroa as we were really looking forward to it.  The scenic cruising was beautiful, the onboard ranger very informative.  Sydney is a beautiful city, clean and safe, we just did the hop on hop off bus and the Sunday market in The Rocks since we only had one day there.

Huge kudos to the public area cleaning staff.  This ship was by far the cleanest ship that I've ever been on.  I expected that the facilities would degrade as the passengers were onboard for so many sea days.  Every day, the ship fairly sparkled.

Overall, I’d give this cruise a 3 ½....not terribly bad, but not as good as other Princess cruises that we have enjoyed.
