I was expecting more from a ship with the name Golden. The ship felt dated except in the Piazza area. Windows were dirty and made it difficult to view the beautiful scenery from common areas. The paint was sloppy in places--overall\, attention to detail was lacking on so many levels including food presentation where no creativity was displayed. In addition\, communication was not apparent during key aspects of the cruise especially during the Tracy Arm Fjords where workers were painting and toxic fumes made for a not so pleasant experience. Additionally\, Race the Deck for the Cure should have been a walk around the entire deck\, but the staff and the participants found out together that we would not be able to go around the entire deck because work was being done. Why wasn't this work done when guests were on excursions? Windows should have been washed and painting should have been done then. Wines were advertised at the Wine bar that hadn't been available for weeks. Wait staff were not aware of the ingredients in a drink of the day and some didn't even know what Horseradish was. Found plastic\, glass and hair in our food on three occasions\, but we were told that attention to detail is what Princess prides itself on. Most of the wait staff was very professional\, helpful and friendly. The customer service staff wasn't as professional\, helpful and friendly when it came to getting to the bottom of what we found in our food. Once again\, we were reminded of the attention to detail\, but we were having a hard time finding this to be true. There were great aspects too including so many activities to choose from on sailing days and how easy it is to get around once you dock; although\, it is a bit touristy unless you go off the beaten path. There was good and bad.

The ship's ceiling were rather low\, but the public areas were clean; although\, the lamps in our room were never dusted.
Food and Dining
The quality of food and amount of salt used was not good. Selection was not as wide and the International Cafe served the same selection very day and night. Plastic\, glass and hair was found in our food.
Cabin / Stateroom
Had to ask for the robes we request prior\, but everything else we asked for was taken care of promptly except for the dusting of the lamps.
Service and Staff
The wait staff was excellent for the most part\, but the customer service staff was mostly poor.
The variety was good\, but felt dated and geared for an older crowd--still for the most part enjoyable.
