An OK cruise

Sail Date: January 01, 2013

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Golden Princess needs to be updated. It seemed everywhere we sat it was wore out. The theater was very uncomfortable.

Pros: The Hawaiian Islands

Cons: Too many sea days with not enough to do

Recommends Golden Princess? No.

Ship Quality
Not enough bathrooms in public areas especially by the Caneletto dining room. Always a line. I know you should use your own bathroom but when you're on the Prominade deck and your room is on the Lido deck\, that's a long walk.
Food and Dining
The food was decent. The 5:30 dinner time is way to early. Will never book that dining time again.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was kind of small but was comfortable.
Service and Staff
Most shows were 30 minutes or less. You waited longer for it to start than the performance because you needed to get in the theater or the Vista Lounge pretty early to secure a seat.
Enjoyed the trumpeter and the Las Vegas pianist a lot. The illusionist and the ventriloquist were just OK. The ventriloquist was downright painful at his second show. Seats were a premium at most activities. Went to an afternoon lecture by Kevin Hughes and arrived 15 minutes early and couldn't find a seat.
For a 14 days cruise not many deck parties.
