Just returned from the Eastern Caribbean on the Golden Princess. Embarkation began at 10:30am; went fast and were on the ship by 11. The food was fabulous, too many choices on the daily menu, did not find we wanted to even try the alternate dining rooms. Were concerned that service would not be as good because of the direct billing of tips, but everyone was pleasant, friendly, prompt and congenial. We really did not mind the tips being billed because we always tip, but many do not. With the personal choice; buffets and special dining, the tipping policy seems the most fair. I hope other lines will take the lead from Princess. This crew worked so hard and we did not feel any pressure to tip any additional amount. We did find the entertainment was not as good as on RCI or Celebrity. Only 3 shows, lead voices were awful, comedian was good; this is why we can't give the Golden a 5 star. Not too many kids around; but Princess kept them entertained. Disembarkation went well also; everyone was off the ship by 9:30am. All in all, this was a wonderful cruise vacation. Becky in Oregon
