Cruise to Alaska

Sail Date: July 04, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The Gloden Princess is a very nice ship. There was plenty to do for the whole family. The Tracy Arm Fjord was awsome to see. The captin did a great job getting us in and out of the narrow passage. There were lots of ice burgs to see. When we reached the glacier the captin stopped the boat and did a 360 degree turn so all could see. We also saw a Bald Eagle's nest with the Eagle in it. This was about 150 yards from the ship.
Make sure you take binoculars to see the wild life up close.

Pros: The scenery was incredible.

Cons: Now we want to move there.

Recommends Golden Princess? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Our cabin steward was excellent with the kids. The kids are still talking about him.
Service and Staff
The ships staff was really great with the kids.
Ship Quality
The ship was redone a year ago and looks new. They work very hard at keeping it clean.
Food and Dining
I would always do the anytime dining. We did not want to be locked in to a specific time.
Entertainment
The magic show was very good. We all enjoyed it.
Children's Programs
The kid enjoyed the programs they did.
Ketchikan, Alaska

Don't Miss: The Lumberjack show.

The gold mine was fun and we found some gold to bring home. This was great for the kids and the adults.
Don't Miss: The Mendenhall Glacier is a must see.
Skagway, Alaska

Don't Miss: We took the train through the mountains. The scenery was spectacular.
