Worst Cruise Ever

Sail Date: October 01, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

On the first day aboard our penthouse room air conditioner was not functioning. The temp inside was 90 and outside was about 70. After 4 days they finally got it to work by having the cheif engineer to repair the system. This only happened because we constantly requested it to be fixed. Service from day one was aweful. English was not understood by most of the crew. We had to explain things over and over again. We purchased a honeymoon package which was a waste of money. The Spa (included treatment in the package) turned out to be a bait and switch and we ended up paying the differance. After paying over $15,000 for the cruise we were litterly pushed to get off the ship which caused us to forget some things in the penthouse and are being told it will take at least 6 weeks to find them let alone return them. Now some helpful information. 4 days at sea then an island per day then another 4 days at sea left us with absolutly no feeling that Hawaii was mever visited. Most of the passengers were seniors which also promoted the venue of the cruise.

Pros: Getting off the ship

Cons: Everything

Recommends Golden Princess? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
You would think that a penthouse suite would be in full working condition. Not in this case
Service and Staff
The crew needs to learn hospitality and more so how to understand english
Food and Dining
The "Gormet" restruants were substandard in both service and quality of food. We got the impression that the staff only wanted tips
Ship Quality
Maintenance is not appearent on this ship. Many things needed attention
Entertainment
The only redeming quality was the live entertainment who did a good job
