It's not the party atmosphere it used to be, and I miss dining and getting to know other families, but if you can put that aside, it is a wonderful break from all that is happening in the world and the staff seems very appreciative for your patronage.

Enjoy

Think twice about sailing out of Puerto Rico. I am not sure if this was a one off sort of thing but the clientele on this ship was rude not only to each other but to staff as well. I have not experienced anything like this on other cruises.

I noticed that I really felt movement much more in the front of the ship then in the back. I would try to get a stateroom around midship /back on level 7 or 8. Most of the activities and dining are on decks 4, 5, 11, 12. You will have easier access. We always took the stairs rather then the elevators. Also, deck 4 has the outside balconies that run the length of the ship. Those are a quick way to get from one end of the ship to other other without a crowd.

still has a cigar bar inside the ship, Connoisseur Club, wonderful

The ship is nice and there are plenty of things to do. When sailing from San Juan there will undoubtedly be a large contingent (70-75% was the estimate) of Puerto Ricans on board. We had zero issue with anyone on board but RC is not stupid and they cater to this large spanish speaking constituent. All announcements were made in both languages and many of the activities and people running those activities are chosen with this in mind. Most Americans are used to having everything centered around them and some in our party felt uncomfortable in this environment. Clearly not used to being in the minority had something to do with it. Not a big deal in the big picture but something to be aware of.

Very disappointed...I have been on other cruises with Royal and had this been my first I would NEVER sail with Royal AGAIN...luckily I have been on other Royal ships....so my advice is not to choose Freedom of the Seas
