Review summary

Cruise overall was great but it was definitely marred by the problem with the stateroom. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful except the customer service staff. They basically told us to suck it up for the error they made and they weren't going to refund us anything between what we paid for and what we received. Ship was nice, a bit smaller of course than some of the others, but did not feel cramped and there was still plenty to do.

We reserved an ocean balcony junior suite. They messed up the reservation, put us in an ocean view with a giant porthole that had a security cameras outside of the porthole. Had to keep shades closed majority of trip. They didn't have a suite available. We understand mistakes happen, but it took us 4 days of fighting with them and eventually pulling in contacts at their corporate offices to finally at least get our money refunded. They never did do anything else for us to make up for the mistake except refund The difference between the cabin we received and the cabin we paid for.

Queenb12702, we are not gimme gulchers as you put it. Under normal circumstances we would not have expected anything. But considering we had to actually reach out to the CEO of Royal Caribbean in order to get even our original balcony suute purchase difference back, we consider that a bit excessive. You would think to make a customer appreciate the efforts, particularly considering they accused us originally of not having paid for the room when in fact we did, that they would have had done something even if it was $10 of onboard spending credit, to acknowledge their issue. It is about their actions, not about us looking for a free lunch.

Sorry for the cabin mess up but glad the did refund the money. Would have been nice if maybe they would have thrown in a drink pkg. of something.
