This was our 2nd trip on this ship. We love it! We already booked our next cruise vacation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We flew in the day before we were scheduled to depart which made it easier for us. We got to the port around noon, and was able to board quickly. The longest line was going through the metal detectors. We got right up to the counter, we were issued our sea pass cards, and off we went!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining rooms and specialty restaurants were amazing! My son loved the buffet in the windjammer, breakfast was really the only time I ate in the windjammer. We ate at Chops which was our favorite, Giovanni's and at Sabor. We loved all 3 but Chops was the best!
Chop's Grille
5 out of 5
The food was amazing! Filet Mignon that melted in your mouth! The service was excellent! We sat by a window and had a beautiful view of the ocean. I highly recommend trying Chops Grille, its so worth it!!!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I mostly played bingo, or sat by the pool. There were 3 pool areas one of which was just for adults which was very nice. The Quest game is the most fun! We also enjoyed karoke, and my son loved the flow rider. He was there every day and Daniel ( employee ) was amazing, and my son learned to stand and surf thanks to his help!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were great, the DJ's were great, I did not like the silent disco. I had never seen it, so I went, and seemed odd to me.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
I rarely saw my son except onshore, and at dinner. He found friends, and the activities in the club kept him occupied almost all day. He had a great time!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was amazing. Our room attendant was so curteous, and helpful. Our dining staff had our beverage of choice waiting for us each night, and the bar staff was always pleasant.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything on the ship seemed to be very clean and well maintained. There was an issue with the soda machines, no fault of the ship itself, and one elevator was down. The elevator was probably due to kids running in and out, up and down playing on them.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
There were 3 of us in our cabin, we had plenty of room, and our attendant cleaned it daily, and we always had fresh towels.
Ship tip
Bring your own hangers, there arent many, and there are formal dining nights. Also even though you have a specific dining floor, check out the different photographers, they all do something different with different backgrounds.
Great for shopping but at the time we went, they were still trying to recover from Hurricane Irma in 2016. There is a lot of work to do, but all in all the island was nice, and the people were very friendly.
Shopping was very close by, excursions were limited due to damage from Hurricane Irma . The island is still rebuilding. I spoke with an employee at one of the jewelry stores, very sweet lady, I wish i had gotten her name. My prayers go out to all the residents of Puerto Rico, still rebuilding. Tourism helps, so I encourage people to go! We walked to the fort, there is a lot of interesting history in Old San Juan.
Great beach day! This is a Royal Caribbean island and they take care of you all day long! they served us lunch, and we had access to bar service all day. Clean beaches, and there was an aqua park for kids to play in.
As we diembarked, getting off the ship initially took some time as they were scanning each persons sea pass card. I think they should have had 2 lines on each side to speed things up. Once we got through that it was pretty fast. Our luggage was waiting for us, we walked out, waited 5 minutes for an uber and went straight to the hotel.
Glad you enjoyed what is also a favorite ship for us. Did you schedule your uber in advance, was it in a first come first served queue, or did you call during or at the end if debarkation? We uber between airport and home, but haven't tried uber from the ship. Thank you.
