Review summary

We are very loyal to Royal and they took very good care of us. We are D+ and will continue to be loyal as long as they continue to offer us perks and excellent service.

Embarkation

this was a B2B so we just walked off & walked back on. Went very smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
MDR was excellent. Service was perfect...couldn't have asked for more. Did "Murder Mystery" which was great fun but a little "pricey". We ate breakfast in MDR most mornings...trying to find a table in Windjammer isn't the way to start off a "stress-free" day. Guests eating food while walking around buffet...yuck!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Production shows were excellent...singers and dancers did a great job (doing a B2B, we enjoyed them so much we went back to see them again!). Love that royal still has live music...makes a BIG difference!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was amazing and took fabulous care of us...nothing was too much trouble.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Love promenade...especially on rainy days & evenings...it is like sitting on the boardwalk watching everyone all dressed up for dinner. Just wish the design of Voyager & Freedom class ships included a canopy that could close over solarium pool...when it rains, no one can use any of the pools.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We prefer to stay on ships longer, so we sacrifice size of cabin for length of trip. We have stayed in many different cabins (promenade, balcony & Grand Suite) but since we do not spend a lot of time in cabin, the interior cabins work just fine. Our shower head was broken when we arrived the first week of cruise but was replaced immediately when we reported it. This cabin was quiet except when some of the 1,500 kids on board (it was Thanksgiving week!) were running up and down the halls.

Ship tip

Eat breakfast in the MDR...it is so "civilized" compared to Windjammer.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

Stayed on the ship

George Town, Grand Cayman

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Insanely crowded...Thanksgiving week and 4 ships in this port.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the ATV Jade Caverns which I do not recommend. VERY dangerous trail which I had a tire blow out on since the entire, narrow trail is nothing but sharp jagged rocks & very deep ruts. The equipment was not in good shape. We all dressed in bathing suits since we thought we would be able to swim. People were climbing to top of trail and jumping into lowest pool of water. Adjacent to the pool they were jumping into was a cavern filled with hanging bats...I question what is in that water they were jumping into.

Disembarkation

We did another B2B so we just walked off and back on.

We have reservations for the Mystery Dinner in February. Anything we need/should know prior? Thank you! 😁

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your cruise! Also, when you do b2b, do you have to get off the ship like everyone else and do check in again? How this works? Thanks!!
