Review summary

If you are considering A Royal Caribbean cruise choose one 6 nights or longer. There is so much activity aboard and at port that it does take a little time to settle down and relax. By the time you do you are heading back home. We have taken 3 with them and the experience has always proven them as one of the best Cruise lines

Though the embarkation process can certainly be improved upon, the experience played a minor role to our overall satisfaction with this cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Without exception the service and food served was at a level enjoyed by our entire table. To serve this many and maintain professional results consistent with that standard is a tribute to management and all involved. Stars well earned.

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

My experience with a Head Waiter onboard previous cruises was limited to a welcome; an occasional stop to sees that all were satisfied. Limited in that I was uncertain the importance of the role. Our Headwaiter,Dennis, demonstrated personal interest and commitment to insuring a quality experience, As I am sure all experienced dining in our area. Additionally, Mon,and his assistant Levyton, deserve an equal commendation

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We were in relaxation mode, so the pool, reading, enjoying the view on the gulf were the highlights for us

4 out of 5
Favorite shows included the Ice show and the Magician

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Yes, yes and Yes The overall cruise was complimented by friendly and accommodating staff whether our needs were more towels drinks or amenities. Help was at every venue and the rarely a delay in waiting for service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Freedom has a great layout, it is easy to travel to any point both by elevator or through corridors on any level. Pool deck and activities decks are clearly explained and traveled by any number of guests.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony stateroom is our favorite as it allows for a quiet space with a view for early morning coffee or uninterrupted reading

Ship tip

Afford a personal dinner experience through one of the Specialty Restaurants. We chose Chop"s Grill for a romantic dinner and it was remarkable

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
This is a great port to begin or end a cruise as the Fort Lauderdale beach easily driven to while waiting for boarding or a flight back

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Cayman is a great island to visit. We were able to snorkel and experience Sting Ray city, still making it back in time to shop before our ships last tender

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We have a favorite all inclusive resort in Costa Maya. Shhh...its a secret.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Truly a tourist island, If you can't experience it In Cozumel...get a guide. Make sure you are back to the ship on time
