Review summary

The Freedom of the Seas was enormous, beautifully appointed and felt like it had the BEST crew! If you like cruising, this seems to be the ship to go on. We are a family of 4 kids ranging in age from 6-13 and have extensively traveled in the US and overseas several times. We usually stay in 4 star places and enjoy good restaurants normally at home! The staff was excellent in every way. The shows were fun, broadway quality and for all ages. By the end of the cruise, we wanted to go to the shows also just to hear what the cruise director was going to say! I hope he gets paid alot because he could entertain anyone! Everything was available; sports, spa, alot of food, lovely bars, pools and a great gym. We partook in the family ultimate race and played alot of miniature golf. Wave Rider was great fun with some 4-10 people in line most of the boogie board open hours. The only thing we did not care for on the trip were the lines to get on/off ship, lines for most things and the amount of people everywhere.

We got a taxi to Paradise Beach, paid $9 for a wrist band and the kids got to play with all of the 'stuff' on the beach......iceberg, trampoline, slide, row boats. Service was good and they have alot of chairs/umbrellas/tables set up. Labadee had same 'stuff' for $20 wrist band! Island is generally run down but we loved the beach we went to.....
Don't Miss: Paradise Beach, 10 minutes cab ride

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

We loved this place and spent the entire time on beach farthest from ship. The beach and cove was beyond beautiful. We found starfish, crabs and lots of fish! Snorkeling was great and very safe for the kids. We rented water mats and used snorkels to look in water. RC staff was in boat making sure noone went out too far but one certainly had enough space in the large cove! My 6 year old was on her own raft with us snorkeling over the coral and sea urchins! Shopping for straw hats, coffee bean necklaces, wood carvings was handled by Haitians having there own stalls in a designated area. You could go over there if you wanted and barter for some great stuff! Noone was coming to approach you on the beaches. Music was great the entire day!
Don't Miss: If the weather is good, GET OFF THE SHIP and snorkel!!

Great jewelry shopping with RC recommended and quaranteed stores. Best 'town' to see on trip.
Don't Miss: We swam with the stingrays. It was a once in a lifetime experience!

Everyone was on the take from taxi, beach, beach chair, hair braids, snorkels, jet skis. It was not a place I would miss but we did have a good time. All of the people were very nice just trying to make a living off of you.
Don't Miss: Get up early if you are thinking about Waterfalls. At least one hour drive!!

Pros: Weather, staterooms, personnel, gym, shows

Cons: lines for almost everything (understandable for a cruise), ate too much, people everywhere
