Amazing New Ship

Sail Date: September 01, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

We had sailed on Royal Caribbean ships before, so we knew they were nice, but nothing could have prepared us for the brand new Freedom of the Seas. Wow, what a magnificent ship. So many new amenities, the best of which is the Flowrider. It was so much fun, we were hooked, and wanted to be out there every time it was open. I'll admit, it was a little intimidating at first, but you have GOT to try it!
Another great feature is the Royal Promenade. We love the "main street" feeling of this avenue of shops, bars, and eating establishments.
The pool areas were large and well laid out, with plenty of lounge chairs. The H2O zone is great for children and adults of all ages, like a floating waterpark.
And for adults who want a little peace and quiet, there is the adults-only Solarium area, which is a tranquil escape.
The entertainment was first rate and the award-winning production shows were nothing short of fabulous.
Our stateroom was well-appointed and comfortable. The new beds are extremely nice (not your typical cruise ship bed) and all staterooms have flat screen tv's. Not that you're going to want to spend alot of time watching tv in your room!
Every day on the Freedom of the Seas brings a new adventure, from rock climbing, to the Flowrider, to the ice-skating rink. Amenities abound on this beautiful ship and we have already booked our next cruise on her sister ship the Liberty of the Seas which makes her debut next spring. We can't wait to "Get Out There" again.

Pros: Flowrider

Cons: None
