Wonderful Cruise

Sail Date: July 12, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Celebrating our 30th anniversary, we were excited to sail this ship after having seen it on a Travel Channel show a couple years ago. The ship was everything we expected and more! Loved the Promenade, Chops Grille, adult pool area and entertainment. The cruise director was full of energy and talent and the ship's production numbers were well done and of high quality and caliber. Can't wait to sail again - maybe this time to western caribbean.

Pros: Friendly staff, spacious ship, adult spaces and options, entertainment

Cons: Crowded pool areas (adult pool)

Recommends Freedom of the Seas? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Can always use more room, but it was clean, attractive and provided overall comfort.
Ship Quality
Layout was easy to follow; staff could always be seen attending to or cleaning something; decor was attractive.
Food and Dining
Chops Grille enjoyed over dining room which was enjoyed over buffet (Windjammer Cafe). Enjoyed My Time Dining option and would do that again. Very convenient.
Service and Staff
Everyone (except one guest relations staff member) was more than willing to be helpful and friendly. Staff very willing to do whatever was asked from bringing BBQ sauce to the table, to finding a lost bottle of champagne for our anniversary dinner; to providing a couple extra bath towels.
Entertainment
OUTSTANDING!! Wished we had taken in more of the shows and will know better next time!
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Enjoyed sky ride to Paradise Point and Champagne Sunset Cruise. Shopping is overrated unless that's your purpose and what you enjoy. Next time we'll likely go for a more scenic tour as opposed to worrying about port shopping.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Enjoyed 3 hr. island tour - lots of info and got to see both sides of island with some free time to explore.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Enjoyed the beach, but if we had known lounge chairs wouid be provided at no cost, we would not have rented the floating mats. Not huge deal, but more our preference.
