Great Ship --

Sail Date: March 08, 2009

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was great. Always very clean, organized, roomy. Even with 3000+ people on the ship, and fully booked, it was not crowded and there really were no lines. The only area that was crowded was the middle pool areas during days at sea, and then it was hard to find a seat. but the solarium pool area (adults only) was usually more empty.

The entertainment shows were great, much more than just the music and dance stuff. (ventriloquist, magicians, Comedians, acrobats)

Negative: There were no midnight buffets. After a few days we asked about this, at the customer relations and were told they did away with them for cost reasons

Pros: There was so much to do on this ship

Cons: there were no midnight buffets anymore on Royal Carribbean

Recommends Freedom of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Really is the best ship on the ocean in all ways. Flow rider, rockwall, ice skating rink, and the promenade was great for anything you wanted at any time.
Food and Dining
Food in the windjammer and jade were excellent, tons of variety and really good food. The dining room had more limited options, but the food was excellent.
Cabin / Stateroom
room was very spacious, balcony was a nice size, room to lay out.
Service and Staff
Great staff, better than any other ship we have been on.
The primary entertainment options were great. Shows, the 70's dance party, 80's dance party, South beach DJ/Dancing party, were all great.
Children's Programs
If you have kids, especially teens this is really the only ship you should consider. They have their own section of the ship and spend tons of time on the flowrider, rockwall, volleyball, etc..
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Really is not worth the stop, I would not reccommend going to an itineray here unless you have enough time to visit the rainforest. Porting at 3pm in san juan is not worth the day.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Really enjoyed meghans bay, great time spending the day, just get off the ship and there are 100 cars/vans ready to take you over there cheap.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
orient bay beach was awesome. Take the excursion, they take you there, get you chairs, umbrella and all the drinks you want. Worth it.
