Review summary

Freedom of the Seas is a very beautiful, clean and new ship, and the cabin staff is well trained to service the guests. The food services are flexible enough to allow variety, for a small or large group. The food services also caters to persnickety teen palates, and schedules. The dining facilities were extremely nice at each venue. Room service was less than what it could have been. The menu was limited and dull. In review of ports, we were unable to depart at Labadee, Haiti, due to weather. The experience at Jamaica, Ocho Rios was a huge disappointment. The beach was dirty and limited in size, with the sewage pipe from the restrooms running directly into the small beach where Freedom of the Seas clients ventured into the surf. The Dunn Falls climb was very slow, crowded, treacherous and somewhat dangerous. I was very surprised that this beach was a Royal Carribean venue.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Windjammers was boring after the second day, but the food was certainly serviceable. As I was in a large group, and we ate in a variety of groups in the dining rooms, and in the restaurants. We enjoyed the flexibility of the up-grade restaurants, and the regular dining rooms were very nice. The room service menu was limited and boring and service took quite some time, food was marginal.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The comic was great, and the other shows seemed to be so early that I was unable to attend, as I was still at dinner. Disappointing

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Ship staff was great, very friendly and accomodating, while being efficient at taking care of our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
beautiful ship, well-maintained, easy to use.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Stateroom service was very nice and Ezra was great. He seemed to respect our privacy and needs without being intrusive.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

We hired cabs to Mr. Sancho's beach and met up with friends who were staying there. It was an easy travel and we had great fun. We did do some shopping on our return to the port prior to re-boarding the ship. It was okay, but too much tourista.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We, as a large group, rented a Catamaran, separate from Royal Carribean, for snorkeling at Stingray Cove, and then onto another area rich in fish for the snorkeler. We had a lovely time, the boat and crew were wonderful and accomodating
Don't Miss: Stingray Cove and fish snorkeling.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

This port was a waste of time, the beach was dirty, small and the bathroom sewage drained into the only area for people to use the beach. The Dunn Falls climb was crowded, slow, and dangerous. I would not at all recommend this activity, not only because it is slow, and dangerous, but really, it is boring.
Don't Miss: nothing, this port should be avoided

Pros: fabulous facilities, clean, safe, flexible food plans.

Cons: constant drink hawking on deck, need to supervise daughter's spending with open card
