Awesome floating Island-not just a ship

Sail Date: November 01, 2006

Room Type: Inside

We've sailed on the Freedom of the Seas for Thanksgiving for the fist time, and "Wow!". The ship is a world of it's own with it's own character - a larger version of the Marina of the Seas, with much more of everything - in fact a floating island of it's own. We had no idea what more could be added but the fitness center, larger adult spas and increase adult pool areas, ice arena, just fantastic. We really like Royal Caribbean's style and most of all fine dining and room service, the new Freedom did not disappoint us. The shows were great, enertainer superb and we really enjoyed the Piano Bar/music at Schooner's Pub. Our stateroom was cozy and the bathroom with the corner shower and 'doors' enhanced and enable one to move about the bathroom with lots of new storage elements.

Overall we have to say the ship was really impressive, the staff was cordial and if you enjoy large ships with lots of activity and - Freedom is it!

Pros: Promenade with Sidewalk Cafe and Sorrentino's Pizza Cafe

Cons: Commuter security check-in delays

Recommends Freedom of the Seas? Yes!

Excellent presentation of food, taste and portion.
Service and Staff
Average to good depending on the time of day. Occassionally staff seem over extended / stressed.
Ship Quality
Clear and precise deck information posted at elevators re directions of restaurants and clubs, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom
Love the new bedding and comfort.
Love the daily listing of activities (Compass) and happenings aboard ship and especially the reminders/announcements of activities and locations during the day.
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Excellent lunch and entertainment. Enlarged Straw Market and activity parks for all age groups including kids. Variety of activities, snorkeling, parasailing, etc. available.
Don't Miss: Trolley transportation around the island
